According to the official introduction, this model will be put into production this autumn and delivered in November.

A large-scale solar panel is set at the rear. In addition to the rear, there are also solar panels at the front and rear of the car, with an area of five square meters, which are used to receive energy. The car body can receive energy through these panels during driving or at rest.
The interior of the car is extremely simple and clean. It looks very good. The interior adopts a symmetrical design, equipped with a large suspended screen and three multi-functional leather steering wheels. The design in the interior is not as obvious as that in the appearance compared with ordinary electric vehicles, which is more common.
Although this car is called a solar car, it doesn’t just rely on the sun for energy. Otherwise, it won’t be able to start the car in the dark weather, or it will just shut down halfway through the drive? Manufacturers will certainly not let this happen.
For this car, solar energy is only an auxiliary power supply, and battery reserve power supply is still necessary. In terms of endurance, it is equipped with 60kw.h battery pack, which can provide 625km endurance under wltp working condition. In sunny weather, 70kw endurance can be supplemented by the battery every day. If the weather is cloudy, 35kw endurance can only be provided by the battery.
For people who have short commuting time or do not travel often, they do not need to charge frequently, which can save part of the cost. According to the official introduction, people who commute within 35 kilometers a day can drive the Lightyear 0 for two consecutive months in the Dutch summer without charging. In sunny climates, drivers can drive longer and longer distances.
From this point of view, the strength of this car should not be bad, but the price is not so good. The price of Lightyear 0 in Europe, excluding VAT, is 250000 euros, which translates to 1.76 million yuan in RMB. Those who can afford it must be rich people. However, this new type of the car has not been applied to market yet. Maybe part of the reason why it is expensive is that it is a new type of the car. After all, rarity is more expensive.
